Kauai utility seeks regulatory approval for major renewable energy project

The Kauai Island Utility Cooperative has submitted its application to Hawaii regulators seeking approval for a power purchase agreement with landowner Gay & Robinson Inc. for a planned 6-megawatt hydroelectric facility on the west side of Kauai, according to public documents.
