Council unveils plan for wind turbines

Green promise - head of public protection Dipt Patel, sustainability officer Chris Livemore, strategy manager Stuart Burrell and deputy council leader Graham Longley with the Climate Local pledge Officials are looking for ways to promote power generation in the borough as part of a drive to become a designated "green city". They have ruled out tidal energy as a power source because they say there are no suitable locations in the borough's part of the Thames Estuary, but think wind turbines could be a viable option.
