CNPC Employee Lambastes China's Pollution Documentary, Says Its Producer Doens't Have Brainpower

#Energy An environmental documentary looking at the inconvenient truth of pollution in China has swiftly garnered more than 100 million views over the weekend. Chai Jing, a renowned investigative reporter, took on state behemoth China National Petroleum Corporation in her 143-minute film Under the Dome, which has been compared to Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. Chai, a former reporter at state broadcaster CCTV, revealed how the oil giant- which sets the standard for fuel production and ignores the Ministry of Environmental Protection - has resisted investing in higher grade fuel. Even China’s powerful economic planning body, the National Development and Reform Commission, didn’t have much control over the company- It threatened to end supplies when the government agency raised the issue, an anonymous official told Chai.http://ift.tt/1zUjCF9 http://bit.ly/15KdByZ
