Clean energy project at UTSA wins federal support

An engineering researcher at the University of Texas at San Antonio has received a $290,000 federal grant to support her work on renewable energy. The funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture were awarded to Krystel Castillo , an assistant professor of mechanical engineering, for a project that is establishing a platform to investigate new mathematical models, methods and optimization techniques that can be applied to agricultural and biomass logistics, bioenergy integration and water resources.
